The Chaos Experiment
In 2008 Steve Bannon's home distribution media company produced one of the most mind meltingly stupid and unintentionally hilarious films that fully aligns with all his mind meltingly stupid ideology. The Chaos Experiment (aka The Steam Experiment) is an anti-climate change, anti-women, anti-mainstream media and frankly anti-humanity "horror" film opus. Val Kilmer stars as a deranged climate change scientist who locks six people in the steam room of an abandoned hotel in order to prove that climate change will drive humanity to the brink.
But alas, screening such a film feels, well... icky. Enter Filmanthopy! A screening series where we show a film that may be great fun in it's insanity but also a bit gross in it's core values in order to raise funds for non-profits battling their flawed logic.
This screening will be raising funds for EarthJustice. EarthJustice does amazing work fighting for our planet in the courtroom and are currently representing the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in their continued efforts against the Dakota Access Pipeline. Check out the meaningful work they do here: http://earthjustice.org/
